A Thought On The Film Sunrise

My claim to prove about the movie Sunrise is why the woman from the city, otherwise known to me as the devil or the bitch from the city, chose the country as her vacation destination.
The woman from the city chose to vacation in the country in an attempt to find a companion, even more a husband.
My claim comes from my speculation of why a city woman would want to take a vacation in the country when there were other options that still allowed her to relax and get away from the city, with a measure of stimulation that she enjoyed in the city. She’s a woman accustomed to the hustle, bustle and excitement of living in the city, unlike the country, which is much more easygoing and rarely exciting. She may have needed to get away from the usual routine of the city, but she still would go back as soon as her vacation period was over. There was more to her reason for going to the country to vacation, and then extending her stay.
Reasons for her decision to go to the country to vacation with the intention of finding a husband are exhibited when the man and his wife end up having a day out in the presumable city. Although the reasons don’t directly relate to the woman from the city’s reasons, the couple’s experiences that day give explanation to why she decided to go to the country to find a husband.
Her initial indicator of her intentions was at the beginning of the movie, at vacation time. There were two main attractions for vacationers from the city, cruises and time spent at the beach in warm climates. They provide the time away and relaxation from the city, but had enough stimulation and excitement for the average person from the city.
Another indicator of her intentions comes from the moment in the film where she was having her night tryst with the man; the moment when she proposed that he sell his farm, move to the city and kill his wife to make it possible. She attempted to convince him to do it by expressing the desirable qualities of the city, which the special effect illustrated by showing the bright moving city at night.
The sequence of shots in the film when she was laying in bed and looking through the newspapers and found an ad about buying farm properties that she circled showed her commitment to moving forward with the man in her life living in the city.

The reasons for the woman from the city’s decision to vacation in the countryside in an effort to find a man are proven to me in the time that the couple spends in the city.

One of the woman’s reasons for seeking a man in the country could be the fact the difference of men in the city from the men in the country. Men in the city were a lot pushier, forward, rude and even impolite. The series of shots in the salon when the pushy man was sitting next to the wife as the husband got his shave gave an example of the kind of men that were in the city. That could explain why the woman from the city decided to go to the country to find a husband. She could have decided to go to the country to find a husband since she may have thought men from the country would be less likely to be rude and inappropriate with a woman, respectful, yet still exciting, romantic and endearing.
The woman from the city may have also thought that most men from the city were unattractive. Most of the men shown in the city were not as attractive or appealing as the man from the country. Another possibility is that the attractive men that lived in the city already had a wife or girlfriend in their lives. The couple dancing close, and intently on the dance floor at the fair, are a considerable example of a man unavailable due to his relationship with another woman.

That brings me to the thought that competition was another reason that the woman from the city went to the country. There were other women in the city that looked and were very much like the woman from the city. An example come from the movie comes in the salon with the manicurist. The manicurist looked a lot like the woman from the city and very a considerable hit of the woman from the city’s manner. I can imagine that with so many other women competing to attract a man she may have been daunted by her success rate and figured she would find a man, and a better one at that in the country.

One motivator as to why she may have had such a desire to find a man to be with may have been that she was experiencing a lot of women around her were getting married. The wedding that took place when the man and his wife initially got to the city made me wonder if that was a usual occurrence. The shot at the entrance to the photographer’s shop with the pictures of other people who had taken photos on their wedding day seemed to prove that it was a very usual occurrence. Something that seemed to confirm it for me was the fact that the photographer assumed that they had just been married that day. It seemed like he was accustomed to a usual flow of weddings, unlike it being an occasional happening.

These are my proofs to my claim about the film Sunrise. I hope my evidence convinced you of my perception of the woman from the city’s intentions in vacationing in the country.
